Pre-course ReportPrepared by Yanran Fang(房俨然)Date: Oct. 17, 18, 19, 20, 2015Congratulations on your enrollment in the CHEMBA program! The program will be intense and rewarding. The Organizational Behavior course tends to equip you with state-of-the-art, empirical knowledge so that you can understand the psychological principles at play either when you are a team member or when you are leading a team. To accomplish this and maximize your learning, we will approach a variety of topics from multiple perspectives. Thus, both professors may address similar topics, but from a different background, context, and perspective. The course goals are: 1) Improve your analytical abilities and your capacity to understand and predict the behavior of individuals, groups, and organizations. 2) Provide you with knowledge to analyze, manage, and lead people with diverse background, in diverse organizational settings. 3) Practice and apply these skills in cases, exercises, and simulations. 4) Understand that there is no “cookbook” formula to being a great leader. To maximize your learning, you should: 1) Be prepared. The reading and case preparations take a substantial amount of time. 2) Engage in constructive discourse. Constructive discourse requires that you are willing to honestly share your own views and that you are considerate of others’ views. In this report, you may find:Course InformationClass RulesConcise Course ScheduleGrading Rules After Course AssistanceCourse InformationCourse Title: Organizational behaviorInstructors: Professor Michelle K.
