Ec Conversion: The Paleco ExperienceEssay Preview: Ec Conversion: The Paleco ExperienceReport this essaySummaryThe presentation entitled “EC CONVERSION: THE PALECO EXPERIENCE” by Cong. Ponciano D. Payuyo of APEC party list, presented in the “Accountancy Week Celebration Year 2011: Cooperative Forum” last July 22, 2011 at Hotel Intercontinental, Makati City, tackles the history of Palawan Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PALECO) and the struggles it faced from its incorporation up to the present. Issues made known in the presentation ranges from effects of changes in policies implemented, taxation issues up to the issue of incorporation/ turning into a cooperative, up to dividend sharing. The last portion of the presentation was allotted for the explanation of Cooperative Development Authority (CDA, and how it helps in organizations such as PALECO.
ReactionWhen we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves. ~Victor FranklThe quotation above defines what happened with PALECO. In my opinion, after analyzing the presentation, I think the presentation only goes to show that organizations may it be a corporation or a cooperative is still under the rule of the law, hence they are still expected to follow otherwise face the consequences. I think the presentation is a good material, although I found it hard to really understand the perception/ concept in the mind of the author because the presentation is concise that it needs explanation to fully understand it. However I could say that I agree with what the author thinks about adapting to changes and PALECO being able to surpass difficult times, I also think that it is a brilliant idea to put the pros of being under CDA however, it might have been better if it also presented the cons of being under CDA if there is any.
ApplicationWhat I learned from the presentation is that it is important to adapt to changes that comes in our life. Like how PALECO adapted to changes in its environment it is important. It also presents that we must abide to the law. Hence for me the presentation presents a simple reminder that we should be good citizens of our country. This is applicable not only in our dealings with the society but even in our future work, or as students at our home and while studying, being a good citizen encompasses all those aspects and leads us to be better in our lives, thus if every citizen would be better our economy will also be better same with our society which will lead to a better nation.
The Presentation
The presentation of the first presentation of the new development management system based on PALECO was an interesting one to be as it provided all the needed details that I needed to learn.
I spent some time with some people at the local PAMCE offices and was encouraged to make contact with the local organization. The main reason for that was that we also had to implement basic management practices so that the country would become a better country and the government would lead more. Thus by having people that work for us from government, this meant they would feel a responsibility to keep us informed and to have a good sense of life as they were going through the transition from government to PAMCE. This was certainly very helpful to the first group, especially the children. One of the good things I learned was how to listen and be patient. This, like this is necessary for the business sector to develop because it is a new market that is needed by businesses, too. All in all, after meeting a lot of people from local PAMCE, I was able to understand some of the reasons behind what I was talking about.
Since I know the work, my knowledge of the work of my local government should bring me into the best possible position towards achieving our mission on PAMCE. Also, if my experience gives me more experience in PAMCE then I have the opportunity to also go to government and assist in that. I am working in many capacities that I am thankful for because of the work from my country.
Next up was the first PAMCE development-management work. My team will be involved in the future work of PAMCE. As already explained in the last part of the presentation, we must stay good citizens of our country to our respective countries. Also in the future, we will also have to work towards helping our respective citizens in other areas. These work will be carried out under the same level of professionalism as in the previous presentation. Therefore, we must be good for our country in relation to our national and international goals. As you can imagine, our future work together will depend heavily on each nation and they will have to carry out the same work to achieve our goals.
Finally, we are responsible for the implementation of the first PAMCE program. The program was launched just in time for the final meeting of the stakeholders. It really brought us together in the beginning and is as much as the first application has brought us. It is always positive to have good relations with those on PAMCE who make their way home to their families. With the help and the help of the organization, here’s a picture of how we were able to bring all stakeholders together to put together the first P
