In this section I will describe the growing the concerns of underage drinking and the factors/implications in Bermuda.
The study looks at the gaps in the system and how this can be strengthens and interventions that can be made.
There are many reasons for underage drinking. Of which can begin at a very early age. Primary school survey report stated in this report that that many young people begin drinking as early as middle school or even sooner. Early initiation of alcohol use is one of the strongest predictors of subsequent alcohol abuse and alcohol abuse and alcohol-related problem, including drinking and driving, school or work absenteeism, and injuries. It goes on further too say that youth who drink are also more likely to be victims of violent crime and sexual assault. Have more serious problems in school.
In this systemic review I will look at the prevalence of under age drinking and the harm caused. Thisis an area ofconcern for policy makers, healh promotion workers, the criminal justice system, youth workers, teachers and parenats. It is therefore important to understanding underagedrinkers retrieve accurate information about how many young people are consuming alcohol. Tis is paramount to this population with effective services. This being able to have significant influence is a critical role of families and the the community involvement in Bermuda.
The nation school survey 2011 completed a survey to dertemine the growing rate of the rise in underage drinking. The survey was implemented to study changes in the use of illicit and licit substances, monitor trends in the prevalence and frequency in anti social behaviors.
