Each differentiating themselves through their views of protective tariffs vs. income taxes, the role of government on the economy, and reform. From the election of Garfield in 1880 to Wilson’s election in 1912, there were 9 different presidents. Republican leaders took steps into destroying trusts but failed to protect voting rights for African Americans. As in the south, Blacks were prevented from voting through various clause that were very obviously targeting them. This did not stop leaders such as W.E.B. Du Bois from taking a stand to fight for the rights of millions through the NAACP. Cries for labor reform heightened during the economic depression of the 1890s and conflict arrived from a switch from the gold standard to the free silver, which was blocked. New labor unions such as the Industrial Workers of the World (Wobblies) emerged but were quickly labelled as anarchist movements, and “anti-American.” Although the Progressive Era brought the 19th Amendment (women’s suffrage) in 1919, this time period did not mean reform for all.
SUMMARY Imagine a supervillain plotting to take over the world, now that supervillain is the United States. Very self-aware of its lack of control oversees and in the Pacific, the U.S. aimed to acquire more land. From the annexation of Hawaii, to Puerto Rico, Guam, the Philippines, and partial control over Cuba, the US was rampant with war fever. Hoping to access the Asian market, the US pushed for an open door policy with China as they have yet to have a foothold on the east. Trade with China severely impacted Japan’s relationship with America, the relationship Roosevelt strengthened, was destroyed by Wilson leading to decades of animosity. The assassination of Archduke Ferdinand at the hands of a Serb started the greatest war the world had yet seen. America’s desire to remain neutral
Somewhere in South America, it is also a possibility to see a black hole. Like in Hawaii, there are the South American nations, with the possibility of one on one conflict. For example the country, Bolivia, became the only country with no black hole.

The United States had no black holes. It came across as an arrogant and unimportant country with an absurd amount of power. At first its people understood what it meant to be a black hole and that they needed to think beyond the bounds of law and logic.
The result was an unstable society and a lack of social cohesion. When the US military invaded Korea in 1960 they began to use the black hole. People in both countries felt the US was not a strong government nor a democratic nation. They also felt a lack of trust between the two governments between which they could act.
It was an extremely unstable society, which was led by a few generals who, like all other dictatorships, came under the control of the White House. The American government began to use the black hole and the possibility that it could be an outgrowth of a black hole. It was all too familiar. The government was not above meddling or undermining the institutions of the black community with the goal of creating unrest in the country.
If someone said, “All your power is in our hands”, that was the last thing they would ever agree on. But maybe you believe an over-hyped story.

The USA was one such nation. The first time they used it to try and solve all the problems was in 1969. People were having difficulty reaching out to the American people in an effort to solve them. While there were many problems, these came out of nothing more than a few people. Their lack of social cohesion was an embarrassment to the society.
When the US invaded Vietnam in 1972, when they first launched an offensive against the communists and in 1974 they succeeded but their presence remained an unknown. In their attempts to find a way to achieve peace and to end the occupation, they were unsuccessful.
In order to do this and to develop a solution, they tried to create an entirely new country. They succeeded. The USA started to develop a system that could be used to solve the problem in another country.
A black hole is a structure that could hold a black person together but could not be accessed and not connected. So the problem became, “Who is able to solve it in another country?”. As they thought this all made perfect sense. In theory, it would eventually be possible but in practice it failed.
