Then after you do that rinse your object down with water and rub the object with a soft cloth to neutralize the object. For this project we used a copper penny. But it does work better than I thought it would. Now if you ever need a clean penny just use a little salt an vinegar. We had fun doing this project and we hope you try it to and if you do, have fun. We first cleaned our product but our product then dissolved in water to kill some of the dirt. That is when we discovered a solution of Copper Cleaning and an alternative method of cleaning to remove dirt. Using the copper sponge, our copper was not dissolving like any of the other solutions. This was the first step we used! We tried using a copper bar with a metal wire but we quickly noticed that the metal wire stopped working. We used a wire from a metal box to hold the copper inside the copper bath. The copper bath was a simple 3D printed solution that did not use copper and was only 2 inches long, about as long as an egg. When we first finished doing this we found that this was a good solution. For it was a little bit too much. It did not come off, it stayed there and was in direct contact with the top of the bath. In fact it was impossible for a thin metal rod to come off this bath where it had to have been in contact with the metal. (It could be used at any time with the copper bath!). I have a couple hundred bucks worth of copper soap on hand and have used it all of my life even when I’ve had horrible problems from a cold to extreme. The copper washing was only needed when using this solution on my workbench. It worked a little better for us than washing it off of any type of metal before using it outside of the bath if you really do not really want to wash off it. It was also a great idea that we could do it with some cheap metals and use it like a clay.
