Promotional Methods
Promotional marketing methods are used by businesses in order to attract customers and increase their sales. Promotion is something with which public will be informed about the availability of a particular product or service and the uses of such product. When a business has a good product/price for a service it needs to inform its customers. Promotion is very much connected with the other Ps of the marketing mix. The price of the product should be set carefully in order to make it attractive to potential customers and the place must be suitable depending on the audience and target market. For example, if Laura is only having one branch she will not be targeting international consumers but she will be targeting her local area. This also relates to promotion, the business needs to inform customers that it has a new shop opening and this is done through Advertising which can include distributing leaflets, posters, billboards etc. These days the pizza delivery business can be very competitive. Often it is not just now depending on the food quality but it is also how quickly you can get the food delivered to your door.
A promotional strategy which Laura could use to compete with established pizza franchises and other competitors could be the following: sales promotion, advertising, public relations and sponsorships.
Sales Promotion in my opinion is the best way to compete with established pizza franchises and other competitors. Sales Promotion includes price reductions, loss leaders, added value, gifts, competitions, free samples and point of sale. Laura is a new/unknown business. Free samples would be useful in this case
