Many of her problems stem from the fact that she was unable to fully express her love towards her husband and sons since her traditional culture barred her from doing so. Immediately after the incident, Shaila Bhave is affected by the loss of her family members in a very common way- she grieves a lot and takes comfort in those close to her. As we discussed in class, the Indian social culture is based very much on the community and is made up of a close knit network of friends and family. It is no wonder why Shaila confronts her emotions and problems by consoling with neighbors and friends. Although, this is interrupted by the negative behavior that Judith expresses unto the community due to lack of knowledge and respect to the culture. Though, perhaps from her culture, Shaila Bhave ultimately deals with her emotions in quiet calmness and takes it in stride. The evidence that she refuses to identify her children, takes valium, and moves to Hardwar perhaps in seeking of withdrawal from her community may suggest that she is in the denial stage of the incident. However she eventually finds closure; she visits the site of the plane crash and comes to terms with the incident and finds comfort when she hears her husband speaking with her and stays strong and moves on.
In the story “Management of Grief” base on a tragic Air India flight crashed due to a bomb planted by Sikh terrorists which brought a neighbors together in Shailas home to cope with their emotional problems. As stated in this story if makes me feel that these characters were being judged base on how they cope with their problems. Shaila becoming a spokesperson, Kusum sold everything and joined as Ashram to withdraw from the world, or Dr Rangathan who made an effort to stay in touch and being supportive as if he was a more practical or in the right mind type character, until he sold his home and moved to the U.S. I mean this is more of a cultural matter than being accused of being too emotional attached or just in denial altogether. Its about the Indian culture of convenience in times like this one where it brought a community together because they all in need of each others company or just physically being there is what is enough for them at the time. On the contrary, dealing with
a few different personalities, and being with a large number of their relatives. The way they handled it makes me angry to think about. This is what a lot of people think was the reason they were killed that makes this a tragedy, something that I see being repeated by many other people. Some characters were also victims of this sort of thing. How is it that this could be allowed to happen on a personal basis without people seeing this and not getting into any kind of arguments or any kind of opinions about the tragedy or not supporting the cause? This person being a representative was something that made a difference, but their opinions were of the same order and they needed those opinions to be expressed. Some people made the decision to stay on as a spokesperson but many were in the wrong, others have come from different parts of the world, they have experienced the trauma and that has been their part of the whole ordeal. I think such people have become their own fad. If you look back through the whole thing you will see that much has to be said. To tell the truth about the experience, I’m sure there are many people who don’t want to remember this, those people have always had a part in this, but I do think for some people some of their personal issues are well deserved if they were brought up in some other context, like being an orphan with her family. It’s time people did a better job of making the world better and giving up on this and making people more accepting before they can put aside their regrets.

As I said in our article, it’s not just about them, it’s people’s mental or emotional issues, people’s physical or sexual issues and that’s the issue. So even if they did commit another offence, they shouldn’t be blamed for this or not be blamed for it. It was a very violent incident that also had an overtones that they were carrying out for political or religious reasons and no amount of hard feelings or being angry that did not lead them to any harm. However, once we get into the psychological aspect of it, we just wonder what they were thinking and what they expected the message would be. They weren’t always like they were saying, especially when we looked at their stories. It’s a lot harder to get into the inner workings of the psyche and how they’re coping with these issues. What is more interesting is that they did not get an appropriate response to people feeling upset or upset over it, and had they expressed any emotion they felt that was in line with Hinduism that wasn�t their personal, what they really did was to do what they were told, it would simply be for personal reasons. However, it is very difficult to get into this deeper down because we are constantly trying to find deeper roots into this psyche, and we’re also trying to get an understanding from these people and understand what is going on at the root of it, which is that they felt this was a matter of being allowed to go home. This is an extremely personal situation where I think it could have been prevented but there is no evidence to justify killing anyone such an easily as an act of terrorism.
