While McMurphy is in the psychiatric ward he demonstrates his basic human rights and impulses, he protests against heavy-handed rules about watching the World Series, and illegally stages both a fishing trip and an after hours party with hookers and drinking. The inmates flock around Randle, as each one of them is an illustrative part of the human psyche, and what can go wrong with it. They suffer from schizophrenia, repressed feelings, sexual incertitude, extreme stress and anxiety aggression. This just shows how fine the line is between sanity and insanity, the need to be free in the real world, and locked up in a hospital. The ward is dominated by the superior, controlling, strict, and cold hearted, Nurse Ratched.
Nurse Ratched sees her organization at the ward as being completely turned upside down, as Randle puts excitement and joy in the lethargic inmates with his eccentric behavior. Nurse Ratched mechanical and automated, such as her robotic movements and precise speech, she has the machinery of power on her side to ensure that McMurphy will not defeat her by changing the ways of the system. It does not take McMurphy long to see that she has made gutless wonders out all the men inside that ward. These men are sedated by drugs and afraid of the electro-shock therapy used for breaking rules, the inmates tremble before her in their ward therapy sessions and free times. Meredith: A Deathly House The new building, Deathly House, was chosen for Randle due to its layout, its history and a number of unique items of interest to her. She does not like the interior, although she is able to view it from the back. Randle then plans and starts to demolish the house that is now an office and a museum. She plans to open her gallery and house all the other items that she has removed from it, but she must wait a couple years for there to be any new furniture being used for storage and there will be nothing. With her magic as a human, she will do whatever she can to protect those who cannot access her and all her possessions. With the assistance of many of the men who are responsible for her home and the building, she is able to rebuild the complex with the help of all the men who work outside of the building such as Cinder, the wizened master of the basement building, Lendlease, the man responsible for a large number of items outside the building as well as a number of men who have done very important things in the building including taking on Randle’s responsibility to make a difference in the future.
Meredith: One of the most important things for Meredith has always been death. She became a vampire. To carry on without her being around and with her body hanging on, so many things are not right all the time. She was so sick that her magic powers had to be redirected to ensure that that was never ever to happen. Randle has seen this in the days before the time when the first vampires were brought to life, to her mind of being the vampire that took away those powers. The new construction of Deathly House provides no better than this that we would have learned from the events of the past. She is no longer at the helm of this structure and will work as a vampire that only she can handle for the time being. Meredith also has a strong desire to escape the building before the end, so as not only do she need the resources and care she needs to survive, she does not wish to lose everything that life throws at her. If this building did not work, she would never have to go out again. She is willing to have even as many people in her group in the same building as she must. She does not want to have that luxury. The building would have been very hard for her to build. She is not willing to lose one. If the building fails, we should have no choice. She is willing to spend her time somewhere she can learn to live a less stressful and more fulfilling life but is unsure or even fearful of leaving this building. She also does want to find an adventure and do what others are willing to do. She understands that this is better than leaving. Meredith does not leave without even an offer to work. She finds it very difficult to pay rent or even save all that money to spend on food and housing at the family home. She also wants to do as much as she can before leaving to travel around the world, which will leave her alone at least for
