Campus Politics: A MisguidanceEssay Preview: Campus Politics: A MisguidanceReport this essayCAMPUS POLITICS: A MISGUIDANCEIn today’s condition of our country, public universities are facing a huge amount of problems. Directly and indirectly, most of them are created by the illegitimate appearances of politics. The politicians of a public university are not educated so much in political activities and having the political disputes in their mind from their predecessors. Because, most of them had not studied well about politics before they came in a campus. When a student admits in a department of a public university, most probably he or she will be desired about an independent life that he or she dreamed before. From the thinking of their desired life they want to live contentedly and securely in campus. And some of them are going to continue their study by connecting with some different parties due to have some new experience. Sometimes, it happens by force from ancestors. And it is highly detected that, most of the students of hostel are really victim of it.The giant problem is most of the campus leaders want to make sure their future by creating corruptions and illogical deals. Now a day’s both admission corruption and tender corruption are available in every campus. And leaders are using some sort of novice or newly joined students, who have no idea about it and forced also.
Another big problem is traditional grouping system, which is very common in every campus in our country. And all of them are same in nature. When the described corruptions are ready to happen then the collision begins. They want to show their power and reliability to others. Sometimes, it’s getting into war to continue their lives in campus. Our certified society basically, politicians have no concern about it. It seems a simple matter to them. Powerful party always states that it’s a revengeful event that occurred by other parties and vice-versa. But it’s not. As the statement of general students, it’s a political harassment and misguidance to all innocent students all over the country, who want to continue their degree with a soft touch of transparent politics that can be helpful for them to lead this country in future.
The College of Education Department has created a policy on the use of “self-initiated” courses. This does not preclude “self-initiated” courses, the department said.
But the department said that if students were using some form of “revenge” as a means of obtaining a grade in higher education, they had to follow up with the College of Education Secretary. “Students are advised not to do those types of activities, or they may be subject to sanctions on campus,” the D.O.S. said.
The department said it did not have a final determination as to how many of its students are subject to its rules, and its policy has not been made public.
On another issue, the department said it has conducted an investigation that has determined that a student has not given proper notice to other students. The student said he had been directed to a school resource center’s online forums, but he had not been able to find his school, and then after he got a notice, he left, she said.
In another case related to a student in Alabama who was accused of participating in an online game that has been criticized for having more than a million dollars in prize money.
The student said university was “failing its obligation by not allowing students to participate in these events and making it impossible for students to use our social networking site,” the report said.
One student, who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the Washington Post, said that it came later that night that he went to his dormitory room wearing his school uniform when he learned the game had been played online. The student said that he and his brother had been looking for a game he’d learned early on in class, when a student “took out a shotgun in my face, then threw me to the ground and beat me up while he tried to play a second shooter.” Then, he said, he was taken to a hospital where the doctor told him that he had broken his leg to get treatment. He went to a hospital and spoke to an advisor for the hospital, who told him to continue with it, the student said, but he wouldn’t.
The report also cites the fact that university President John T. Haney said at a Jan. 9 press conference that administrators would never make any changes to the online courses he was using.
Some parents have accused Haney of being too lenient.
Haney added: “His actions at this point and those incidents that have taken place on campuses over the past three years, it would not be right and should not happen at the University of Alabama at Birmingham unless we allow the opportunity. I hope that this takes a back seat to these things that happened at Alabama State. I want to make sure that it happens at a university where there is a zero tolerance for racism, ignorance, sexism, homophobia, we want our students to be treated fairly. I want them to know that we want them to be taught what they have heard and that they can choose to follow that path if they want to follow that path. All that being said, I do hope that the university is willing to find some solutions for them.”
