Benzer and Steinhard (1997), survey the nature of perceived wellness and determined that it could only be measured by their affective nature on an individual basis. The purpose of this study was to measure their individual wellness perceptions in a college population. The Perceived Wellness Survey (PWS) was composed of different races, genders and age distribution to measure both spiritual and psychological validity. The study measured the relationship between spiritual and psychological wellness. The researchers found that if one has a positive outlook and a sense of being coherent for life purpose to enhance a sense of well being.
This does not belong in the literature review After researching this study I am currently focusing more on a positive outlook to enhance my goal of bringing my weight back down to a manageable and healthy level. I believe that by if you are able to have a spiritual and psychological relationship your outlook on life and your positive goals can be meet. Over the last ten years I have always awoken early to spend time in prayer and meditation before starting my day. This has allowed me to stay more focused and centered on positive goals and have more of a spiritual connection. Over the last couple of months I am now beginning to integrate the physical part by working out to get my body in shape.
My goal is to have a mental, spiritual and physical connection with the universe I do believe they all have a factor on one having a balanced outlook on life. When I had an auto accident in 2009, I was not able to function after my back injury. This took me down a long road of expense, doctor visits and changing my lifestyle because I have been living in constant pain. I have always been positive about getting my health back but the road has been a long one. I am currently working on changing my mental and physical state by the researching and using the resources that are available to me.

The study concluded that time spent on work relationships and household chores can have a negative effect on ones well being.
