Francine now lives in Jackson, Michigan. She was given $11,000 in advanced for the book that McNutly wrote and bought a house. She worked as a secretary in real estate before she started working in a factory as a forklift operator. Francine was laid off her job after two years due to drinking and drug problems. Francine then met a man named Robert Wilson after he was released from parole for armed robbery. He moved in with Francine and got married after a month. Robert tried to control the kids because Francine let them do whatever they wanted. The children rebelled against him saying he came into the picture too quickly and didnt treat them fairly. They bought a house in Tennessee with the money they received form the movie. Robert started his own chain- link fence business, and Francine became a nurse. Francines daughter Nicole told social services that Robert tried to sexually assault her. Francine said that Nicole only did that because she wanted to go back to Michigan with her other daughter Christy. Francine later moves to Michigan with Christy and Nicole. Later she starts facing more issues with her daughters and being far away from Robert causing her depression.
