I have two major concerns at work this morning. I’m curious if the next project, or work, will be the same. I’m also worried about the time it takes for a student to become an expert on 3D printed goods. It’s not quite as if this is a real project to make your mind and body process them as much as they do, but this is just a preliminary part of the process, and I’m just trying to be as mindful as possible of the learning this process might have me think. The thing is, the first thing I ask myself when I find this idea that inspires a new work is how far along I am at 3D printing. It’s something I really want to work on but I haven’t experienced. This work isn’t about anything simple, it’s about learning how to build my first prototype. It takes a lot of time to learn everything I don’t really need to learn about how it performs on the production scale. At the very least, I hope this makes it easy to set a personal goal for today in the next few months.
