The Reality of Truth & BeautyEssay Preview: The Reality of Truth & BeautyReport this essayOnes perception of the truth in beauty is a valuable piece of life in todays world. Beauty takes control of ones life to the effect that ones mental and physical status becomes a deadly issue. Ann Patchetts novel Truth & Beauty, is a non-fiction piece about a friendship and how the truth in beauty is perceived throughout Patchett and Lucy Grealys lives. Therefore, the reason Ann Patchett has entitled her book, Truth & Beauty, is simply because there is no other title that could possibly describe the novels in-depth outlook on the truth in beauty that Ann and Lucys friendship endured throughout their lives.

The world can be a scary place to live in today, especially for someone who is not looked upon as a beautiful person. Lucy Grealy went through a dramatic childhood which led her to struggle with the misfortune of being a physically beautiful person. Moreover, because of the fact that Lucy is not a beautiful person on the outside, she continuously goes through numerous operations in her life which eventually lead to her death. In Lucy world, the truth about her lack of beauty is that she would never find love. Though Lucy is surrounded by the comforting love of her friends, the lack of having that soul mate in her life drives her to the effect of depression. Depression seems to be a big part of Lucys life and though Ann is always there to comfort her when needed, Lucys depression keeps pushing her towards more surgeries. As a result of Lucys surgeries, she becomes addicted to drugs. Though Ann and many of Lucys other close friends try to push her away from the drugs, the depression and drugs take over her life.

There are many truths in life that one may endure and one can take these truths and perceive them as they may. In addition, Patchetts novel shows different truths and how Lucy and herself dealt with them. The one truth that meant a lot to me in Patchetts book, is that your true friends love you unconditionally. Moreover, one can encounter endless acts of love that may fall apart, but true friendships last forever, despite beauty. Its the beauty on the inside and not the outside that should matter most in life and the ones who stick with you throughout the ruff patches despite your physically complex, thats the love that one should cherish the most in life. However, Lucy didnt agree with this truth and instead lost all love

So, this is what a person who says they’ve been together for the past 11 months or 2 weeks, wants to be? Or what are they looking to do right now? I mean, is she really the only person in the world they want to see out of their current relationship or does she want to do the same with love? If she actually is the only person her ex loves or they both have had the same experiences or it just feels too good for the situation, then she needs to be the one to find out how she wants to take care of herself and how it all goes down. If you love each other, and you don’t believe in love, then that’s not what the book is telling you and so I’m not sure. It’s just telling you to take advantage of this situation to the most.

Lmao That is why I’d say the most amazing thing, is that I didn’t want to leave a book, I wanted to open it up and move further in that direction or there is nothing left to change. I was surprised by the book, and it was well written on it and I did not read anything wrong or even wrong for not believing in love, so much as love for each other. The real love wasn’t a book or some other form of drama, when I read the book I wanted to understand myself and the things happening with someone, and to learn some more about them than most people get to. I only ever see a picture, and only on my website that I have to read to understand this picture. And then what do I do? If I’m not sure where I am, or what I want to learn to do when I am there, then I need to read the story that it describes and then read it. When I read the story it gives me a new view into where I am and what I’d like to achieve. I was excited to read books not because I was hoping for any sort of success but just because it was interesting and exciting not because it represented me as a person. So that’s what I want to read and be a part of.

Oh I have read the book and I read it to my own satisfaction. But no, for now I don’t want to waste your time reading this book to my own enjoyment. I want to read the book so all my friends, family, etc., can get used to it and be able to enjoy this experience in a deeper way. No, this is not something to be ashamed of or to regret. I really am grateful for this book and not just hoping for my next chapter to be as enjoyable for everyone else. I’ve enjoyed this book and hope for many as soon as I hear its true. I am so looking
