Religion. Religion have a lot of story, not only in the United States but in other places around the world. Some people think religion is not that important but it is because humans have the right lo believe in something, even if lots of people think they are crazy. People think that the first âreligionâ was the Judaism and was made in 1500-1350 B.C. the second one is the Buddhism. The other one is the Christianity.   Religious freedom  is important because if you want to believe in something you can, even in unicorns. The government know they canât do anything about that because religion influences a lot of people. In the Mideast they donât have religious freedom, if you donât believe in the same thing, like them, they might torture, rape or even kill you just because you believe in something different.ââToday, almost 90 percent of Americans say that religion is at least âsomewhat importantâ in their lives. About 60 percent are members of a local religious congregation.ââ By: Jennifer A. Marshall. What is the First Amendment? It is a law that prohibits making a law impeding the free exercise of religion, freedom of speech etc. There are basically three interpretations: Broad, Narrow and the Literal. The broad interpretation determine that people should have freedom from religion, church and state must be separate(first amendment) and that the government is prohibited from providing any aid to any religion whatsoever. Some of the problem with this interpretation is the words ââ in God we trustââ in the money, because if someone from another religion can say that the government and church are not separate. The narrow interpretation determine that the government cant give anyone religious preferential treatment and isnât prohibited from supporting religion as long its impartially. One of the problems with this interpretation is that if you want to pray in a public area you have to do it nondenominational because if you say something about your god and someone from another religion gets mad you may get in trouble. The last one is the literal interpretation. The literal interpretation determine that the government is not prohibed from participating in any religious practice as long as it dosent declare an official religion, they are prohibited from establishing an official religion.
