Web. 13 Oct. 2016.                In this research authors mention the lack of study on relationships between children and            parents, who treat their children unequally, and if the high level of differential treatment indicates about poorer parent-child relationship. The study included 74 two-parent, middle-class families with one child between the ages of 11 and 13 and a teen sibling who was two to four years older. Parents and siblings were interviewed individually about family interaction.

Multilevel research revealed that differential treatment was associated with more negative parent-child relationship only when teenagers feel differential treatment to be unfair. Results highlight the importance of examining all family members’ viewpoint and encouraging them to discuss their understanding of unfair differential treatment.                 This research can be considered as a reliable source as it is written by Laurie Kramer, who is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Founding Director of a Family Resiliency Center, Jennifer Krull, who is an associate professor and her research is primary focused on multilevel analyses of sibling groups and Amanda Kowal, who is an editor and a publisher at Saturday Shelby News. This research, annotated above, was conducted in 2004, which may be slightly outdated. However, it contains a very useful information regarding an issue which exists forever.
