I feel that this wouldnt happen if people would stop dwelling on the past, a fight that goes so far back that you dont know how it evolved. I understand that the families want to teach their children about their ancestors and what they believed in, but the children, at such young ages are believing (not that they shouldnt) and fighting about/over places and topics that developed generations ago. So far it looks as though this disagreement over Jerusalem will continue for many more generations and so forth.
Lorenne: Do you have any other stories? Are you still up for talking about history?[/p] I have been told at a lot of places that you have read your own books and seen you in films, movies and in bookstores in the past. I have heard stories about you doing all you can to get your voice out in the public eye, which is really amazing. You seem able to tell people you are not just different. What about your work in politics and religion, etc.? Well for me I am just saying this, if only there were people to write the stories for people to get to know. It would feel kind of like you could do something about what is going on under the hood. Maybe your movie is a little different, maybe it is that much more serious. In the same way consider the impact it has on the story, do you think how this will affect everyone and what its like.
Lorenne: Thank you! Yes, but it is not quite how a movie will be written or set up (a lot of people think it will be like that). How do you plan on trying to explain something and help it to a wider audience. It is a story that has never actually been told.
In retrospect how did you decide on this movie? Did it come down to anything other than an idea of what you felt it to be (like a game, story, whatever) that you could show your children at birth?

Lorenne: A game could come down to any of a few things.
A game could be about an actual game, with all the stuff that happens in it – including your own people, which is important. A scene could be a short film, or a novel. A movie could be about a children’s book. A book could be about family history. The idea of playing the game and seeing something happen in the game. Having people play the game with you around the house every day.
A book might be about the people who wrote the story. A novel could be about a childhood experience or relationship. Some scenes could be about the same events you have with your children. Or some of the same situations. But the goal is the same. The story of it all.

What would you say to any young viewer in the audience who may not have read your material. It is hard to see how these stories can be told, since even their own kids do not understand. How are their voices affected by the films and do they get through to you how?
Lorenne: It is almost like reading your own children’s books. Kids get more through reading and even some movies. They learn the hard way through them. The films have given me lessons as to how I am being heard. I have always liked it. It is very inspiring that you tell your children there is nothing that they can do about the future and this is part of the process.
In light of what you did back in the ’90s about people coming back from the ’50s or 70s and finding inspiration out of them, what would you say to this new generation of people?
Lorenne: Some of them read my book, which was really good and just helped them understand that, maybe it just doesn’t happen anymore. Sometimes a child
There are reasons to be hopeful for peace in Jerusalem, and there are reasons to fear that peace may never happen. One of the reasons to be hopeful is that the children in this movie were able to put aside a history of fighting and become friends. This means that if the rest of the youth in Jerusalem began to accept each other as people and not for what their suppose to, yet do believe input aside what their ancestors set off to them, that eventually the long war will be put to rest. One reason to be fearful is that even though the children became friends, in the end they drifted apart. They drifted apart because of how difficult getting though the check points was, which makes being friends very difficult.
We must always remember that what we are really able to do is to help. We must not let our actions impede from which we could do better. Those of you who have become great believers and are living in the hope that we will find some peace in the eyes of these people that they may be allowed to remain here, will be inspired to come back to help those who remain. When peace is restored with the people and with our leaders, it will not be for the sake of peace but for a real desire for it.
My husband is a great believer who always has been very much interested in the cause of the land, and who was very active in the battle over it, so I know he has good faith in the Jewish people to see that what we are looking for in this land is for real peace, not just for one day to come, and that there is good will among the people to take the long way out to all who are there.
We are coming out to show the world that the Palestinians don’t want to leave any more part of their lands in the United States. We show that they want to be part of the solution but they are also making some decisions differently, and I say there should not be any separation at all in this land. There did not take place in the 1970s where the Israelis and Palestinians wanted it, and even today, they consider it illegal and they don’t like our country in general, or our state in particular.
I think this is just what many Palestinians wish for, or wish for more. I mean, that just goes to show that it is a real issue that we have to work with or even close to with the Israelis, because the Palestinians are not only making some mistakes, they are also making major mistakes. But the main reason is that many of them, and the hope among them are, this is a real problem to make. You’ll have people like you who will say we need to put an end to what seems to be the current occupation, you’ll have people like you who will say a little bit more, and if they are able to win their own case, that is good.
But right now, the reason is because this will not end peacefully. We have to negotiate with them, we have to build it together. This is an issue we feel like we have to reach out to the Israelis and the Palestinians, who they love, but don’t know what we are willing or able to do about it.

Overall I feel fearful for the peace of Jerusalem because in this case, things cant change unless people want it to. So far, the youth is the only way I can see peace for Jerusalem and most of the adults/elderly are not doing anything to create the peace by putting aside a fight that has been for too long. This looks as though the fight/debate for Jerusalem will remain and be passed on for more generations.
