Our goal is to improve security and safety of tourists when enjoying themselves in activities like hiking, boating, skiing, and camping. We develop a recreation management framework where RFID readers are installed at the gateways of traveling paths. The average traveling times between two neighbor gateways are statistically determined. Each visitor in the resort/wonderland is equipped with an RFID tag where some of his (or her) personal information, like health condition, is stored. When an en route visitor fails to pass his (or her) next checkpoint in an estimated traveling time, an alert is then generated. With the help of RFID tags, visitors are warned or prohibited to enter some danger zones.
