I Walk into room holding keys in RH (1st piece of business – just arrived in a car), turn clockwise at Mark 1 (to ask Somerset a question to reassure myself) but first puts keys in right coat pocket after spinning them twice at shoulder height (not intending to go back to the car just yet), say “You’re sure you’re reading that right?”, take sunglasses off and puts them on forehead with RH (2nd piece of business – moved because of the lack of sun inside) continue “John Doe?” and rub bridge of nose, and eyes with RH thumb and forefinger (1St physical – Eyes adjusting to light, nose sore from glasses) Somerset says “That’s what it says. Jonathan Doe.” I Turn anticlockwise to continue walking (satisfied with Somerset’s response) on the way to Mark 2 take glasses off head with RH and place in left inside coat pocket (2nd piece of business Cont. – they are irritating and uncomfortable on my head).
Hit Mark 2 and turn to face Somerset (asking another question of older more experienced partner, feeling reserved about current situation, looking for more reassurance that we are not here out of futility) and say “This is stupid. It’d be just too easy.” Somerset replies “We’ll take a look at him. Talk to him” I retort (somewhat sarcastically) “Sure. Uh, excuse me… Are you by any chance a serial killer? Oh, you are? Well, come with us then, if it’s ok.” Turn toward and move to Mark 3 (content that I have made my point to Somerset and ready to proceed).
Hit Mark 3 and tap Somerset on chest with RH (to get him to stop so I can ask for yet more reassurance about the possible upcoming confrontation), stare at his left ear to cheat the angle, ask him “What are you going to say?” To which he replies “You do the talking. Put that old silver tongue of yours to work.” I respond (humorously) “Who told you about my Silver tongue?” and start towards Mark 4 (Feeling more confident, laughter being the best medicine for nerves, I am ready to move towards the ultimate goal – John Doe’s door, and the possible confrontation).
Upon hitting Mark 4 I knock with LH 15-20cm across from (at the same height as) the door knob. I then retrieve a 20C coin from left coat pocket (LH) then pass it to and roll it across my RH fingers, throw it up in the air and catch it with RH, pass it back to LH and stow in left coat pocket (3rd piece of business – Absent minded to help cool my nerves). Then say “This is really lame” and for lack of anything happening try the door handle with RH and, finding it unlocked, push it wide open. Somerset cries “Mills” and there is suddenly gunfire from somewhere inside the doorway. Reacting from the first shot I turn clockwise and back myself hard against the wall and run my LH fingers through my hair (2nd Physical – feeling my scalp and skull in reaction to the bullets that were very close to penetrating through it and on an unconscious level checking that they didn’t…) I then say “Jesus Christ…” and then grab my gun from the back of my pants with my RH and hold it up close to the right hand side of my face and bring my LH across my body to dual grip the gun (4th piece of business – retrieve it in order to defend myself and hold onto it with both hands because I want to be sure that I’m holding it – I’m a little scared and desperate) continue “What kind of gun was that? Damn it Summerset… What kind of gun?! How many Bullets/” to which Somerset replies “I don’t know. Might’ve been a revolver.”, “Fuck! What’s he look Like?”, “Brown hat. Tan raincoat… like a… like a trench coat.” I then point my pistol ahead of me through the doorway and enter warily but quickly.
