Crazed Sports Fans
Football has been around for a very long time. It evolved from rugby in the 12th century. Lets take a minute to think about this, what else has been around since the 12th century? Thats right fans, fans of the game. I believe that there are three different types of fans, team supporter, team fan, and team fanatic.
A typical Oklahoma State University or OSU football supporter is someone who goes to the game, maybe gets a hot dog or a drink and sits in his/her seat and watches the game. This is fine, but where is the excitement? This person, if you have ever observed someone like this, doesnt look like theyre having any fun at all. That really irritates me to the bone. Football games are all about having fun and cheering for your favorite football team, not sitting there wining and moaning about why they wish they could be somewhere else. Supporters got one thing right though and that is they at least where their team colors. However, this is somewhat satisfying, because to me that really is a form of cheering.
The next type of person is a sports fan. Now according to the Websters New Collegiate Dictionary, a fan is an instrument for producing a current of air. To me that statement is totally wrong. A fan is just the opposite of a supporter. A fan is someone who comes to the game with a really great attitude and is pumped about everything. An OSU fan will wear their orange and black and scream at the top of their lungs “ORANGE POWER.” I like this person a bunch because I love those games when the fans are together and cheering with each other. Its like we can forget about all of our worlds problems for about three and a half hours, and stand or sit rooting their team on.
The third type of person is a sports fanatic. A sports fanatic is almost like a stalker in a way because the know so much about that team. To me a sports fanatic is someone who buys season tickets to his/her favorite team and shows up to the game in either rain, sleet, or snow. A sports fanatic knows just about everything there is to know about their team. They know player numbers, player names, and they know the statistics about the team they root for. Fanatics usually wear more orange and black than anybody. They are
