Overcoming Little Mindedness
In grade school, we focus mostly on ourselves and very little about the world beyond us. In college we find ourselves more independent and begin to see that there is a lot more going on around us than we thought based on low experience. I believe what Robert Frost tried to mean by saying this interesting quote, ” We come to college to get over our little mindedness” (Robert Frost) is to be able to grow out of immaturity. One can start by taking an initiative, an initiative of actually getting up on your own, doing your homework without being told to, etc. No longer will you have someone babysit you throughout your life step by step. Someone could have an extremely difficult time to get through this stage by not being motivated enough, which leads to procrastinating to the very last minute and not putting 100% effort into ones work. This is why many people will fail. The way I see it is, Im paying for my classes so I might as well attend, or I can just get $10,000 and simply just throw it away. People can make their college experience so much easier by taking classes they will truthfully enjoy. College will definitely help someone get over their “little mindedness” by overcoming their struggle in school by proving themselves out of their immaturity.
