Roberts Auto Sales and Service Case StudyOpportunity:After working in Roberts Auto Sales and Service (RASAS), Vicky Roberts, inherited the business from her dad. Roberts capitalized her knowledge and experience to build her business into a diversified and successful mini-empire. Roberts always had a passion for high-performance Mustangs and acquired a 1965 Shelby Mustang GT 350 that needed alot of work done.
Based on her experience, Roberts noticed customer demand for restorations of vintage cars. Shelby will like to restore her Mustang in an attempt to figure out the market response to her opening up her own car restoration business. Roberts will like a feasibility study done on her own project to see if she could restore the ‘65 Mustang in time for the Detroit Auto Show.
Roberts has $70,000 to spend and 45 days until the car show begins. Roberts asked the director of service operations to prepare a report about what is involved in restoring the car and whether it could be done in time for the Detroit Show in 45 days.
Report:Vicky Roberts will like to understand the feasibility of opening a car restoration business. She will like understand what it will take to restore a 1965 Shelby Mustang GT 350 as a feasibility test to insure that starting such a business will provide positive economic benefits. Once the car is finished she will use the car as a marketing piece to gauge potential customers interest in the venture. Roberts has a budget of $70,000 and a timeline of 45 days to get the care prepared for the Detroit Auto Show. I have prepared documentation of the processes of the things that will need to be done to get the project done in time and under-budget. My findings has allowed me to accurately pinpoint when certain actions need to be done and the cost structure for each action. Below, one will find a chart that contains the the projects activities, the time estimate,
A. It contains a link to the document on my personal page.
B. I will be able to add up to 20 requests for the entire project to ensure the timeline of a successful business is being fulfilled.
C. The timeline is given on the document.
D. I will start up a discussion with owners about the costs of their effort and how it would fit with being a commercial dealership. Owners want the right deal and need to be able to pay the full cost of the restoration work.
F. I will be able to provide the owners with information about any other project they request and the cost of a professional restoration. I will be able to show my data and give you a chance to create/share their plans and feel included in their decision making process.
I will be able to make an informed decision on how many will have to be moved and there will be a process for any owners to submit a request to have a look at or report on their work. Those owners will not be charged a fee for a sale and the final cost (which I estimate would be $10 to $20 per vehicle, depending on the car’s size) will be paid for with a 10% tax credit from the car owners. The details concerning a $5 to $25 monthly payment have already been shared with other owners. If I don’t receive the information within the timeframe I believe the final project cost is $60-$80 for each vehicle but would need to be reorganized to account for a different vehicle. The initial restoration work would not need to be completed until after it expires and in some instances is required to be completed through a maintenance cycle.
G. I will be able to present the project and show my completed project data to owners. When a owner has made a request I’ll be able to show up with some of the work that they have completed then tell them the cost. The expense has already been covered and the money has been moved to the appropriate place so it is time to move forward.
H. I will provide the original owner’s detailed information that they need to provide the original owner’s information so that they are able to determine a value for their effort. I will be able to submit the full project schedule to the same owners in detail so that they can compare the value of the repairs that they have done to the value of what they have put in the vehicle on your website. This information will be provided by the original owners and will show how the money needs to be moved and to whom ownership was responsible for such work so that an informed decision is made. I will be able to provide a timeline in the process of the project that outlines all work the owners are working on. In order to be able to send a link back to its owner, I will need to provide a link back to a copy of the project that had been given by the original owners with the updated information. In addition, I will need to post a link back to an email from the original owners that explains how they have requested to be included in my program.
Q. The project manager can direct the owner to complete the work in a timely manner, provide a timeline of when all completed services will be available. In certain instances where the project manager will provide a timeline of the cost or the time it takes to complete the work, he or she can also provide a timeline of estimated or actual service cost in the order in which the
