What role might fictional embellishments have on the interpretations of religious doctrines?
Fictional embellishments have played a huge role on religious doctrines such as the Holy Bible. This book is taken literally to many, yet other people stop their acceptance of the stories in the Holy Bible and question it. They question its purpose and what might be the true meaning instead of what society thinks it’s conveying. Some people are out to prove that both the Holy Bible and religion such as Christianity are nothing but ancient conspiracies. Fictional embellishments such The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown and the many different stories of Magdalene have changed the interpretations of religious doctrines by adding a different theory towards religion.
Many texts today question and that some stories in the bible weren’t part of the original bible. Some stories weren’t part of the Old Testament but were added to the New Testament. A truth which societies since the time the Bible was written misinterpreted. Now there are so many, “bible literalists around, they fuss about what the scripture actually says”.(142, Acocella) This should have been done long ago but society then won’t dare question religion like society of the twenty first century does so frequently. What’s puzzling about the ancient societies is their quick acceptance of the Bible and its religion. What made these people just believe that this was the
