Criminal Justice has always been a fascinating subject to me. Growing up I have always been intrigued by everything that deals with the profession from the start of a crime to the closing of the case. A master’s degree in criminal justice is important to me in both my professional and my personal life. I believe that a master’s degree is important for everyone to obtain. A bachelors degree will only take a person so far in today’s society. Everyone should take their education as far as they possible can and for me a master’s degree is the next step. Obtaining a degree will allow me to obtain the knowledge I feel is necessary to further my career. Employers are looking for employees who have taken the extra steps to obtain in-depth knowledge in their field. I am working right now as a paralegal and would like to learn more about the legal system in depth. I believe this program will allow me to learn different techniques and content that people who work in the criminal justice field already know in able to further my career. This program also allows me to obtain my degree while still working full time as a paralegal. By working as a paralegal I have obtained many different qualities and skills that will help me in pursuing my degree. I am computer literate. I am proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and PowerPoint. I can use the Internet to do research on such sites as Westlaw and Lexis. I have excellent skills in communication, both written and oral.
