A transcendent worldview is one which has a belief in a divine power or powers beyond the human.
Characteristics of Religion:
Beliefs and believers – beliefs are the key tenets, doctrines, or values, which form the basis of a religion for the adherents.
Sacred texts and writings – sacred texts contain the most important beliefs of a religion. These originally started as oral stories. These texts contain sacred stories that convey how people are connected to the supernatural dimension.

Ethics – ethics offers a system of standards which regulate moral decision making for adherents of a religion. Their laws, which embody the key doctoral beliefs of a religion and demonstrates it on how to apply the ideas of a religion.

Rituals and Ceremonies – rituals and ceremonies are practical expressions of aspects of a religion.
All these characteristics come together and form a dynamic and living religion. The key doctrinal beliefs are expressed in sacred texts, which are then in-turn lived out through rituals. The beliefs within the sacred texts also need to have a practical application, thus the need for ethical guidelines. One of the central parts of religion is to interact with a supernatural or sacred element. The adherents then live out the practical scenarios through rituals, ethical understandings and reading the sacred texts to better understand the key doctrinal beliefs. They come to a greater understanding of the divine or supernatural element that they are actually searching for in the first place.

Worldview – a worldview is the overall perspective from which one sees and interprets the world. It is a collection of beliefs about life and the universe held by an individual or a group.

A worldview, whether a religious or non religious, is a personal insight about reality and meaning, often termed a “life understanding.” Each of us has a worldview. It develops in part because we have sought some understanding of our own significance. Any individual’s worldview is internal and unique. It takes shape through interactions and new experiences.

Religious worldview – a religious worldview will allow or perhaps embrace supernatural conceptions of the general order of existence that are not present in a non-religious worldview.
