Saeed Ajmal suspended by ICC for illicit bowling action
Pakistani off spinner Saeed Ajmal was suspended from international cricket after his bowling action was found illegitimate by the experts. His suspension has definitely come as a massive disappointment for Pakistani Cricket and the team certainly. Pakistani cricket has suffered innumerable setbacks over the last ten years, but Ajmal’s suspension is without a doubt the most shocking and startling of all. He is not a prosaic player. He is regarded as Pakistan’s best bowler and not only Pakistan’s best but his name shines in the list of world’s leading bowlers. Moreover, he is proved himself as a consistent performer for the last three years.
It wouldn’t be unjust to say that, Ajmal has been one of the main reasons why Pakistan has earned respectable amount of success in recent years. Now when world cup is only months away, Pakistan can simply not afford to lose Ajmal and that is why our team would be desperate to get him back at any cost and as soon as they could, I believe.
ICC’s experts declaring all his deliveries illicit, gives rise to an important notion; to me it seems very odd that if Saeed Ajmal was bowling illegally all this while in international cricket than why did it took so long for someone to notice it. And ICC must be bombarded with a strong criticism for this first.
Ajmal was reported for chucking back in 2009. But he came out clear and strived to make himself one of the finest bowlers. After the ICC’s verdict Ajmal stated that an accident caused an unusual bent in his arm and he is confident of being cleared. I think ICC must be in a befuddlement at the moment. If Ajmal succeeds to prove through his medical reports that his action is due to a medical injury should ICC allow him to play even if he crosses 15 degrees bend? If ICC allows him, then they
