Value
Personal Source
Justify the Value’s Position in the List. Include any challenges to employing these values consistently when making personal and organizational decisions.
Honesty
I have learned so much to value honesty because of being misled in the past.
If the person you are dealing with is being completely honest with you, it builds such a great rapport. Then the dealings after building that rapport are much easier to deal with. For example, in my previous position as a purchaser, I dealt with sales people daily. One of the first things I listened for is honesty. Because I usually have obtained numerous quotes on the same product I was somewhat knowledgeable of the product. If found out from the beginning that what they were saying was not true, I automatically eliminated them as an option. Many times sales people would tell me, “You will not find it cheaper then that, the manufacturer will not let anyone sale cheaper”. Many times I was holding a quote cheaper in my hands.
Attitude
Positive attitudes will lead to a more successful transaction, in my opinion.
I never felt like dealing with salespeople with negative attitudes. If they gave me a negative attitude before the sale, I could only imagine what it would be like after the sale when I needed deliveries or invoice updates, etc.
Knowledge
The more knowledge a person has, the easier it is to make a decision.
It is very impressive when someone is asking you to purchase something from him or her or make a decision that will favor him or her and they are up to date on their product or solution. Back
