Should the school board make community service a graduation requirement? I personally believe this would be a magnificient decision for the school board to add to our graduation requirements. By adding these requirements, this would allow students to be able to learn to better the community, get students to work well with others in their community, and meet new people they may not know already.
First, I believe this would be an effectual way to help us keep our community a better place for each other. If someone was littering in the community, this would be an effectual way of teaching them not to litter; however, this would help students learn because they would have to clean the trash up in order to graduate. Each person would have designated places to help out, but they would all get a chance to learn and help better our community. This is a good way to help students learn to keep their community cleaner.
Next, these new requirements would help teach students on how to work well with others. Students do not always get along with each other; therefore, I believe this would help eliminate massive problems. If two people do not work well with each other, this would be an eye opening experience to make students realize they can over look problems with one another and work together to better their community. These requirements would be an effectual way to teach students how to work well and effectually with others.
Last, I believe this would be a wonderful opportunity for students to meet and make new friends with people they go to school with. Not every student knows everyone they go to school with. Some students may be too shy to talk at school, but this would give them an opportunity to overcome their fear and meet new friends that they can also work well with.
In conclusion, should community service be a graduation
