EVERY SCHOOL HAS TO REFVLCT ON THEIR OWN COMMUNICATION strategies to ensure that genuine communication is fostered at all levels. Imagine entering a school what do you see ? what do you hear the teachers and staff saying ? What do the notice boaRDS LOOK LIKE ?hOW EASY WAS IT TO ENTER THE SCHOOL? WHAT ARE THE STUDENTS SAYOING AND DOING? hOW NOSY IS IT ?dO YOU FEEL WECOME OR AFRAID ? what is the general feel of the environment . school culture is not a static enquity. it is constantly being constructed and shap[ed school culture develops as stafff members interact . the governance of schools also shapes cultures .

teachers are expected to follow the dictates of a princip[al. the rituals and procedures common to most schools also play a part in defining a schools culture. students are expected to follow thew dictates of teachers . schools wiyh negative cultures are places where teachers are unwilling to change
