Adventure TourismEssay Preview: Adventure TourismReport this essayAdventure Tourism, Meanings, Experience and Learning published by Routledge in 2013 consists of a collection of result provided by the school of adventure studies, Fort William, Scotland. The book consists of feedbacks and point of views of the authors from their personal understanding of the concept. It provides a definition of adventure and talks about introduction of adventure learning, effect of the experience and analytic concept of service. The authors have been able to use a philosophical and conceptual framework to explain all the concepts. The book comprises of both adventure literature and clear focus on the main topic which is the study of adventure tourism.
Through the eleven chapter of the book, we are exposed to lot of black and white maps, charts and tables. Each chapter underlines the importance of adventure tourism and outdoor activities pointing out their growing importance in the tourism sector. Factors have identified the main points such as experience, motivation and environment which are the pillars of the adventure travel.
For ease of reading, the book is divided into three main parts. The first part, talks about how adventure tourism has changed the way we view things now and how we want to delight our customers and offer them the best tourism experience. It explains adventure as a challenge. Risk is also another factor which is well developed and even the process of adrenaline is explained by the authors. Despite all these explanations, it is believed that tourists nowadays are more and more interested in the practice of adrenaline rush experiences and risky situations than staying at hotel and enjoying a sun bath. The book introduced the element of motivation which is presented as a major determinant in the travel choice of customer.
The third part, describes the way that the book is structured. The book begins by focusing on the concepts of adventure tourism, how to stay a good customer and how to think about your business in such an environment, according to those who are involved with them. It then makes a presentation based on the experiences of the visitors and the decision made to return to the hotel. We look at how the product became accepted on the internet in a way that could be applied in people on the internet (especially the tourists). The third part also explains that people still have their reservations about the hotel, why the hotel would stay at a place of that type and where they would go and how to proceed with any such decision. However, this is subject to personal decision, as we are concerned that this would affect the quality of the book and the tourism. Some people are interested in the “life of the adventurer” and go beyond that. Some have a “lifestyle in the adventure category”.
The final part, on traveling from a hotel to a resort or to the resort, is a short presentation on our experience and our choices on the best adventure destinations. The topic could be personal, as a visitor could be looking for a room in a resort when it is not at the airport airport which could be interesting and would bring a unique feel of adventure. Also, we would like to discuss your opinions and the value of such a place.
The book was developed in collaboration between the two organizations Tourism International Association, the country office of the National Institute for Tourism and Planning in the KwaZulu-Natal and Research Center for Adventure Tourism, the World Adventures Association of Bilingual Research and Publications (WARF) and the Society of Adventure Tourism (TAT). We are looking for volunteers to help write and document the book. The book was developed in collaboration with the Travel Association of America and the Travel Association of Bilingual Education (TAT) of Kenya: “The Travel Association of Asia/Pacific Region, the TAT-Napa National Adventure Tourism Coonition and Association of World Adventures, among others, provides training activities by international travelers looking to enjoy the experience of traveling from a special place to a unique place, in the pursuit of self-improvement, adventure, and success. We believe that the first step in creating this group is to learn more about the travel associations. It would also be nice to get involved with the project of learning the best adventure destinations from the people who are actively participating in the trip and also provide a platform to explore those destinations on a wider scale. With the training of all volunteers, the research and publication of adventure adventures is likely to produce better results and also bring more tourism experience to the region and to the wider world.”[/p]
The book is divided into five parts entitled The Tourism Industry in Bilingual Japan, the Adventure Tourism Industry in Japan, The Tourism Industry in Latin
