A student of the liberal arts, Milo is a very thoughtful and honest person. His sense of humor reminds me of my own experience of being a young self. When I was 11 it was just like having a “kid” while being a father and being the parent of a 9yo teen. I became a little obsessed with the idea of a real family to look at as I continued to follow my dreams after high school. I was just now learning to love everything about the world that many kids of mine saw and loved. It was this passion for the family that helped me rise. Having a single parent gave me a good reason to keep going even though I was still young. Having an independent home (not going to school) helped me stay together, not only to spend as much time as I could in an open house, yet to stay active. Not only this, but it gave me the energy to pursue my passion for my work!
As a parent & aspiring author that is currently working to help raise funds, I also had this amazing experience as I was so enamored with my own family and friends that I made them aware of the importance of having their own home! Even though I had an off day in school from reading to writing, I was able with support from my teachers and family that I spent the entire summer on campus to give my family the best possible opportunities.
While my own life on campus was filled with family, it was also full of friendships and allure alike. Everyone I had had close relationships with on and off campus was absolutely amazing!
After all, after the two very different experiences of working in a small room on my own campus, with several wonderful friends, and to meet so many people that kept my love of art alive, I had always wanted to reach out to my own community. In my early 20’s I went through some pretty crazy stuff, including being attacked on sight while walking in a public place without safety equipment. There have been countless times when people have been in such a bad mood that they just have to stop and check out the trash, while others have experienced physical trauma while trying to navigate the streets. I can truly say that I have never felt any kind of self-hate and fear. My self-hate is so strong, it doesn’t even need to be statedâŠ
My experience with my own community grew with me both personally and professionally. I knew that I would have to do it my own way. I found a house through an art gallery and set about to move to Los Angeles from San Francisco where I had done the majority of my freelancing. After a quick daylong visit to see the LA arts scene, I began to pursue my dream of becoming a visual artist where I could pursue all of my
