There are many who believe that our country has no need to improve. They feel as if, a change in the system would totally throw off, what to them is, the norm of the country. However, these individuals are opposed to a significant shift in the nation due to selfish reasons; even if this means a change for the better. Our nation can improve in so many different ways that will, ultimately, lead our country towards prosperity. The task at hand is to constantly progress not only as individuals, but as a whole as well. Famous writer, Gail Sheely, said it best when she pointed out the following: “If we dont change, we dont grow. If we dont grow, we arent really living.” The most infamous topic in our country is the economy due to the fact that it limits so many. Todays economy is nowhere near what the majority would like it to be, and most of that blame goes to the government. In order for America to improve from our economic deficits, the government needs to control its spending, focus on recovering from its debt, and, more importantly, figure out how to stabilize their finances.
There is a lot more spending done in our nation than we, the citizens, are aware of. The governments habit of wasting money is placing the nation in a deeper hole financially than what we already are in. Every decade, federal spending is drastically increasing and it appears to not be controlled. The reason being is because Obama has proposed a budget that would increase government spending to almost six trillion dollars in the year 2021. Can you imagine how unstable our economy will be by then? Taxes will significantly sky rocket, and the big businesses will thrive while the smaller ones would eventually fail. The federal government is getting larger which is influencing their spending. The more they spend, the more difficult it is to climb out of hole we desperately need to get out of.
The current problem this nation is suffering from is the governments debt. This is the “hole” that many speak of. Our country is currently facing a debt of about fourteen trillion dollars. Also, Obama stated that this year, we will be at an all-time high at about 2 trillion dollars. That is for this year alone. Our nation cannot manage to accumulate debt as such a drastic rate.
The best way to avoid such financial issues is to balance the government finances. The nations debt is only going to continue to grow out of control and that is because there is no structure present with government spending. They need a new recovering and improved budget plan, and quite frankly, some structure on deciding what to spend their money on. Obviously, it is not reasonable for the countrys debt to continue to inflate at the rate it is going. Those below the high class are the ones that struggle the most because we are on the receiving end of most the negative outcomes. This is not to
