The ability to manage time may be the most valuable asset students can have. Without it, one can get so bogged down with sports, homework, and life that one accomplishes little. As a freshman one needs to get involved in the school and community through sports, clubs and volunteer work. This will make a well- rounded individual not only in high school or college, but also in life. Allocate time for sports, homework, friends, and community service carefully. It is important to realize that many things have to be accomplished simultaneously to make a person stand out. Here are some things that I have found to help me:
ο Setting Objectives
ο Setting Priorities
ο Stretching your time and using it effectively
ο Setting alarm a couple of minutes ahead
ο Plan the night before
ο Know what youre going to do the next day and execute objectives
ο Write things down on notepad
ο Keep ones standards high
ο Establish deadlines
Time is as precious as gold but not all of us realized that. Its an absolute, equal for everyone, yet time seems to work better for some people, but not for others. Those with more time seem to learn how to manage their assets around time better. Time is a priceless treasure! Appreciate every moment you have and remember that time waits for no one. Lost time cannot be replaced, bought or saved – it can only be spent and then its gone! Here are a few ways that can help you to cherish your time wisely.
Firstly, you have to prioritize. Determine whats important to you and schedule those activities first, then schedule your other priorities according to your schedule. You should also avoid canceling activities you truly enjoy over necessary activities. This is crucial as most of us today do not know how to spend their time equally between entertainment and work.
Next, it is important for you to get organized. Find a place for everything in your causes extra stress. Studies show that people who are surrounded by clutter spend 1.5 hours per day searching for something or becoming distracted. Create a list of what you need to achieve each day and distinguish what is and is not attainable. Focus on a certain amount of activities a day you know you can accomplish and keep your list manageable.
Lastly, you should always set goals for yourself. Set daily goals to help you achieve what you want in the time allotted and set targeted goals to help you achieve them regularly. This also helps raise self-confidence and increasing your performance levels. Goals help you maintain high motivation levels. This way, you could also plan your activities
