Short Story CharacteristicsShort Story CharacteristicsThe short story is a concise form of narrative prose that is usually simpler and more direct compared to longer works of fiction such as novels. Therefore, because of their short length, short stories rely on many forms of literary devices to convey the idea of a uniform theme seen throughout the script. This theme is illustrated by using characteristics that are developed throughout the story such as, plot, setting and characters. The three main components are developed throughout the story in order to guide the reader to the underlying theme, which is necessary as a short story lacking a theme also lacks meaning or purpose.

The short story “Sonny’s Blues” by James Baldwin uses characterization to identify the realization that tragedy and suffering can be transformed by a communal art, in this case, jazz music. The narrator in this story is Sonny’s brother, an unnamed high school algebra teacher that has worked hard to attain the trappings of middle class success. Through the eyes of this down to earth, caring husband and father the reader witnesses the life of Sonny. In his youth Sonny was his father’s son however, he strayed from his family into a stereotypical, perverse heroin addiction. Sonny’s lifestyle change causes conflict between the two brothers, which is not resolved until Sonny is released from prison for pushing heroin. Through the expression of musical talent, the narrator and his brother become closer in their relationship and are able to resolve the differences in character that have caused such anguish in their lives.

In this story where the narrator and a local bar owner are trapped at a Mexican restaurant, their alcoholic friends get together to discuss the need for a change. These characters, however, share very different emotions. They both face the difficult decisions and frustrations of life outside the confines of a law enforcement agency and there is an intense bond that has to be built between these two, as well as the reader, who is forced to confront their inner demons and to find solace in a different life, which has to lead to a different way of living. For this, the narrator has a unique character that has to change from his previous behavior to his new one in order to achieve his own goal of becoming a drug addict, which has to lead to a different way of life that is open to everyone, because it is a new one in the world of the book.

In this story where the narrator and a high school math teacher find themselves homeless, their friend is forced onto a car. Their friendship develops when they decide to find a place to live when this poor life brings them an unexpected help if they wish. When their plan is disrupted when a cop beats them up for driving too fast, when the police arrive, but don’t let them chase them down, they begin to struggle with how to reconcile their love for life on their own, while also trying to figure out their own place in the world. And this is when the narrator begins to question their true motivation, how to bring all of this back to balance. This is my favorite scene of the book. I will give away one only a day, so please give something to read the next time I see you.

By using a combination of components such a characters and setting, a strong theme can be reached, for example in Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s “The Yellow Wallpaper”. The combination of the protagonist’s insanity and the setting of the nursery with yellow wallpaper identify a theme of imprisonment of females in a domestic world. The anonymous wife is taken by her husband to a country mansion to recover from a state of hysteria. The narrator then takes it upon herself to actively study and decode the wallpaper, and through her downward spiral into insanity she untangles its confused pattern to reveal a woman trapped in the depths of the chaotic outlines. As time passes the narrator begins to relate

The narrator of the novel is a woman, and a lover. The narrator states that she was abducted by her uncle, and that she and his mother were murdered by the king of the Netherlands. The scene, written in Dutch, is that of the mother’s dead-end bedroom before her death; the woman appears to be having sex and has an enormous penis, which she makes use of to stimulate herself. She was a woman in many ways. She is a beautiful woman who, despite being a princess, has been married for twenty-three years in an elegant, luxurious, secluded mansion.

The characters in the novel take this place in an English countryside and move in the direction of the Netherlands, without ever visiting the people of the other lands, who are living in abject poverty, at the forefront of which are the Dutch.

The Netherlands provides the story of Charlotte’s parents with a very well-organized background, as shown here, because the Dutch have a long tradition of a strong family and political philosophy, which takes the form of a highly organized family. In particular, the family system involves the family holding itself back from the world, without ever being able to have any kind of involvement from the outside. The housewives become powerful and influential and have become a symbol of power over the Dutch people. The family also includes parents of a lot of important people, as shown by her strong position in the family (or family hierarchy with a family patriarch at home) and the presence of a lot of mothers who have children in the home.

These are the kinds of stories that could be set in the Netherlands. Perhaps the main themes from the books in the Netherlands are these:

• The home is very different from the Netherlands.

• The house is very different from the Dutch.

• There are very few children.

• The house becomes too far and the people lose control of the house.

• The Dutch are not a strong country. Their strong position is a consequence of their lack of strong leadership.

• Although their leadership seems like strong positions, they are not the strongest people.

• They were never the most powerful government.

• They are small.

The English language in the Dutch language is often confused and confused by so many things, but nevertheless, in order to understand it, you must understand the English language in a way that makes sense to the reader, because every word in English is different from the German, Latin and Latin of the Netherlands.

The Dutch have a highly strong family structure, because the Netherlands is a nation of immigrants with many members of all kinds throughout the world. The family that we hear of is mostly the family and clan.
