My Lovin’ Guitar
I remember the summer i first decided to pick up a guitar. It would be one of the best choices I ever made in my life. My dad gave me three chords to start learning since he had been an avid player back in his day. I quickly took off from there passing my dads level in a matter of weeks. It was as if I had always known how to play. The guitar felt so comfortable in my arms. For me to play was my fate that I gladly accepted.
By the end of that summer I was playing every song I heard. The endless hours of practicing was paying off. Practicing guitar was never a burden to me though. It was a release from everything. The simple alignment of notes could take me farther that I have ever been before.
I have never stopped playing since that summer. I remember staying up for hours just playing. I would go online and look up different picking patterns and chord structures. I always learned a lot better when teaching myself. If I was teaching myself then that meant I really enjoyed what I was learning.
As I continued to grow in learning how to play guitar I decided that maybe getting a teacher would help even more. It was a completely different experience all together. I found it harder and harder to make myself practice. Their was nothing like the freedom of finding out myself what to learn. Needless to say, I quit after
