PuritansJoin now to read essay PuritansThe Puritans were very different from the world back then. Their beliefs and traditions were not the same as the rest of the world, nor their culture or way of practicing their religion. Throughout time, Puritans have been portrayed by many books and the media as fanatics and extremists and rebellious. I believe they were a very smart group of people who were not afraid to fight for what they believed. They were very educated, wealthy, and very determined. Although, I do believe they were rebellious because they overthrew the king of England, Charles I, and killed him, and put the Puritan general, Oliver Cromwell as the new leader of England. They wanted to create a Puritan Utopia that would serve as an example for all society. I respect them for their strong determination to make a better or perfect society, even though taking some matters to the extreme.
Puritans believed in order, and were extremely strict in their rule; they had mandatory church, dress codes, Marshall law-military rule, and curfews. They were also Calvinist Christians. They believed in pre- destination, and that all humans are born evil. They were very liberal as well, and followed Jesus examples. Puritan culture was very unusual and different than other cultures of the world in that time. They focused a great deal on family; both parents were a team and worked as a team; they raised their kids together, treat them the same way, make the same decisions, and there were no contradictions between the parents say. This I believe was a good way of keeping the family together, and raise kids to be as the parents want
RICHARD CASH
r.c. Cash is a great example of a Calvinist preacher. He held a regular meeting with a group of fellow Calvinists to discuss their issues and issues were being broached. Cash also has a huge Christian following and he is a wonderful preacher. He became a friend and trusted with my wife, but he has also been very busy with my family and friends since we live on the other side of New York City. For a start he would send a pastor all over New York or get me up there; or visit my friends from the Midwest, who were visiting from the States, and they would write letters to me on what I wanted to discuss. He would try to connect with family with both an open and closed-minded person. He used the church of his time to show respect to others and to understand the needs, concerns, and frustrations of the group members. He always did a “firing off” for others while in charge, which was a good style that a lot of us took off; but also a good one that always gave us the opportunity to learn more and get better at our work (working on something, for the sake of the group, in some way or another), and we were much more focused upon helping others. Cash had a personal way of life that wasn’t tied to being a church member. He loved to be with people and to be in charge; but he also had a lot of work under way to do to fulfill his responsibilities, and to reach out to more and create additional lives for those in the group of all the Christian people. Cash was also an outstanding person, and he had a great attitude of giving everyone something and being a part of it; and he believed that one of the ways to make a positive impact is by providing for others, not by giving them something. Cash also took responsibility for his family and I think he did a great job as a person, and especially his wife, who was an integral part of making that family, that was not confined to other religious people’s lives. Cash was an accomplished person who knew he needed to stay busy and focused upon his own work. I love his work and he was such a great man, and also the best to ever put a smile on my face, one that I would not change. That being said, when he left to go do missionary work, there were two things I did not say. He had his own life with him and that of his group that became an important thing to me for a while, which always kept me on edge. I always think about his life being a good example to others, especially me, when I consider what we all had in common together. He had also been the person who had made life in the Christian lifestyle in the end far better than I imagined it would have been. I am also very happy that Cash
