There are a lot of limitations that affect Mrs Ho to join the social action. Mrs Ho is a full time housewife who spends most of the time taking care of her two little children and doing housework. She uses her only free time to join the social action or meeting. The social worker should provide better environment which is beneficial to the participant. For example, the social worker should provide some nursery services to Mrs Ho so she could be relax when joining the social action. These also reduce the personal pressure burden.
In the interview with Mrs Ho, she mentioned that parents know their own needs for the family, however the government do not. Although the government is working and is carrying out systems, these systems do not suit Mrs Hos family needs. She suggests the government to do more surveying to collect ideas.
Besides, the social worker makes all the decisions for them such as decide to meet the government official member. In fact, member like Mrs Ho has the ability to make an appointment or decide whether or not to meet which government official member. However, decision making was all done by the social worker, so members are like simply following a leader, doing what the leader told them to do. And it seems that the members do not have their own thoughts and are willing to go with what the social worker decided. According the Empowerment, Participation and Strengths perspective model, the social worker still not find out the strength perspective within the group member. The social worker just wants to rush to the task goal and ignore the processes. This cannot maximise the members strength.
The Social Work and Mental Health in Public and Private Societies
The Empowerment Model is focused on social workers, who are considered a well-informed group and are expected to be involved in effective work, mental health training and the development of positive practice as they are part of society. The focus of the model is to provide social workers with the necessary resources, skills and knowledge to help them succeed without having to participate in a large group or be involved in too many groups. As social work practitioners we can create a community in which social workers and social activists meet and engage, engage, share information with each other, and act as part of their community. This model is successful when social work is social based. As the Social Work Education and training model shows, social work groups are social where members are able to live in harmony, share knowledge, learn to develop, be present and interact with one another regardless of their identity.
The Empowerment model aims at the benefit of social workers, as social workers, by providing the necessary tools to create society. The empowerment model takes an aim at improving social support and helping improve work. Social Work can develop a support and motivation model, which is a step down from using traditional social service or public service models.[26] The focus of the Empowerment model is not on improving working conditions, but on developing better psychological and other social skills and self-support skills. Many work groups that have been developed in social worker society, such as the NHS, the NUI Gala, the NHS Youth Service and the W4D can be a useful part of social work training. However, the Empowerment model has difficulties in bringing together groups and people. A social worker must be able to share information, learn about the social work models, and gain trust and trust. But the Empowerment model tries to create trust and trust by allowing the social worker to work without interference from the people, and therefore without using the social worker’s expertise. It fails to develop a sense of trust nor even create something to achieve social results in their own efforts.
