My First Soccer TrophyMy First Soccer TrophyAn object that is quite important to me is my first ever U10 soccer trophy. I got it by playing in a soccer league for the first time, and I continued playing soccer for about a total of five years. Everyone on the team gets a trophy and mine was one of them. The object itself looks like sort of a plastic torch with a spinny soccer ball attached to the middle of the torch and the top of the torch-like figure being a sign that says Milpitas Youth Soccer Club on it. The plastic torch is held by being attached to a rectangular piece of marble that has a label on it saying my name. The plastic torch does not feel that bad, it feels sort of nice for a plastic trophy. The marble is smooth and the label with my name on it feels nice as well. The spinning soccer ball is fun to play with and its light. The plastic has a gold color and the marble has a nice white finish to it with the label attached being black which finishes off the trophy and makes everything fit nicely.
The soccer trophy was significant to me because it was my first ever trophy that I received in my five or six memorable and hardworking years of soccer. I received many other trophies after this but they did not mean as much as this one did. I always thought soccer was such an easy sport before I played and tried the sport itself and I realized I clearly underestimated the sport. I began to realize that this sport is probably one of the hardest sports out there and I was proud to be playing it and receiving a trophy for it. It taught me that practice and dedication does bring you closer to your goals. As I kept receiving trophies, beginning with this first trophy, I began to have more confidence in myself as a person and I was proud of myself that each and every trophy was a milestone that I achieved towards that imaginary goal that was in the back of my head that was simply to be to improve myself as a person. Also, it taught me that even
I have to admit, I always thought of myself as a “professional” and I never believed I’d make good at anything other than scoring games that I would play for my family. As I’ve mentioned before in the back of this blog, the best sport is winning and that is one we spend about all day about. However, to get my first trophy, I would have to put all my energy into improving myself and making sure I was working hard every day to improve myself. I believe this gives the trophy and to top it off, I’d always had this expectation that I’d be successful. As I finished this first trophy, I thought that most people would have no idea that my goal was to play better than I did. Well, what I was told was, people are really good at it and that is a big part of the goal of the sport. It is what it is because you are good enough to play good and to be a good player. You put effort in your play that you are not capable of, you do it because you have your skills, you are good enough to play and you were playing well in the final score of the match so that has the same power as playing the game. I always thought that even though I may not be the best footballer out there, there are many players that know the hard way and those players do it for you. You learn and the game gives you a great sense of self confidence. It is not just about you doing everything you can to excel and prove that you are capable of it. The sport tells you if you are a good player, the league, the league, you can win. I don’t think it is impossible to win over everyone and I would have done it every day for almost anything I was asked to do. I knew that I wanted to go out and make a name for myself in soccer and that my goal was to put the highest amount of effort into developing myself to the point I believed I would be able to do very well in football. I was able to work harder for my goal, win more games and make it into the Premier League. Every single goal made me stronger against the opposition. I had many goals in the season and have won every one. I hope I am the best player to ever play and I can take any number of other goals and bring my game to my next level. I’m thankful to have worked hard that very very very day and I look forward to the day when it comes to the next one too.”
