Experiencing the Arts
Experiencing The Arts
In this paper, I will describe some of the arts that I have experienced. I will communicate how these experiences personally affect me. I will state how I plan to continue to participate in the arts as an audience to the arts. I will not participate in the arts as an artist. Because I feel, I have no artistic abilities. I will also define what I believe the arts represent to me, and the purpose I feel they serve.
A description of the art you experienced.
I have experienced the art of ballet, the art of music, and the art of comedy by attending the matinees at the State and Ohio Theaters in Cleveland. I have seen Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera, Christmas Story, Swan Lake, and The Nutcracker. I have seen the musicals Menopause, Grease Lighting, and Dirty Dancing. I have gone to Jazz Concerts; I have attended Gala’s with Spanish singing groups with dancing included, and seen comedy shows. As I write this paper, I feel that my experiences with the arts have broad range of variety in various arts.
How the experience personally affected you.
As a child of seven, I was never able to see the arts or experience them. I got older, and I when I was able to afford the cost of tickets, I saw my first matinees. It was Swan Lake and what a beautiful theater it was then. The dancers were exquisite, and the stage scenes were beautiful. I kept thinking, “Why did it take me so long to get here?” It was a delightful experience that made my heart ache. They have an appealing stage with amazing, colors and costumes, along with artists that song from the heart. It was quite the first-time experience. I had to go back to see more to stimulate my eyes, my ears, my thoughts.
How you plan to continue your participation in the arts as either an audience member or creator of the visual or performing
