1. Make a hypothesis about how you think the two species of Paramecium will grow alone and how they will grow when they are grown together. (Make sure you understand what a hypothesis is before you address this!)

To discover the growth of two Paramecium species in a unaccompanied environment and also in a accompanied environment. Under ideal conditions-sufficient food, water, and space-populations of these species grow rapidly and under this experiment when combined the growth of the species will decrease if not cease.

2. Explain how you tested your hypothesis. (Give details of how you conducted your experiment. Consider this the “Methods” section of a lab report.)
In testing my hypothesis it will consist of three 10 mL cylinders. The first two will present with 5 mL of Paramecium species on their own and the third will be a mixed environment holding both species. And it will be observed over a period of 16 days.

3. On what day did the Paramecium caudatum population reach the carrying capacity of the environment when it was grown alone? How do you know?
After day eight it has appeared that the species has settled in but at day twelve it grows once more settling at 58 cells per .5 mL ending the experiment. The reason I know is because the cell do not increase by several past days.

4. On what day did the Paramecium aurelia population reach the carrying capacity of the environment? How do you know?
From the experiment it seems as the Paramecium Aurelia never settles in its environment and continues to grow. Reason for knowing is due to the number of sells never settling in its growth.

5. Explain the differences in the population growth patterns of the two Paramecium species. What does this tell you about how Paramecium aurelia uses available resources?

The paramecium Aurelia uses its sources wisely allowing its growth to continue as for paramecium caudatum does not which unfortunately led to the stunt in growth after a quick increase in the beginning to a decreasing number towards the end.

6. Describe what happened when the Paramecium populations were mixed in the same test tube. Do the results support the principle of competitive exclusion?

If definitely agrees with the concept of competitive exclusion as Aurelia uses sources wisely but in a mixed environment also increases in growth much more quickly than the caudatum species which increase quickly towards the beginning but decrease as Aurelia took over the environment with its rapid growth to the point where it over took the entire environment.

7. Explain how this experiment demonstrates that no two species can occupy the same niche.
In my understanding no two species can occupy the same niche with the same tactic. In this experiment it is realized
