Every business has a specific business system that is tailored to handle their operations. Business systems are determined by businesss the service, products, purposes, and its target audience. As time moves forward, the business systems and interrelated technologies are changing and becoming more efficient than its predecessors. It is not uncommon for a business to prolong updating their current systems to the point where the current business systems are obsolete. Riordan Manufacturing has several business systems that are interconnected and related to the success of the businesss processes. The current business systems that Riordan Manufacturing employs business systems such as marketing, sales, legal, human resources, accounting, finance, and operations. It appears that their current business system and infrastructure are outdated, and their business systems need a redesign.
In an effort to reach Riordans sales goals of $50,000,000 in revenue over the next two years, and in an ongoing effort to meet and exceed customer expectations, Riordan must continue to apply a solutions, information, value, and access (SIVA) marketing mix (Dev & Schultz, 2005). Under this marketing mix, Riordan must “develop and manage solutions not just products, offer information instead of simply promoting, create value instead of obsessing with price, and provide access wherever, whenever, and however the customer wants to experience your solution rather than thinking merely where What this means for the Sales and Marketing of Riordan is a restructure of the information systems already in place so that all historical information can be accessed easily and efficiently and new information can be added and stored for future reference. Sales representatives in the field must be trained in hearing and anticipating what customers want and need, and deliver solutions based on this information in the way the customer wants to experience them.
