Steve Jobs About Connecting the DotsIn this speech Steve Jobs talks about “Conecting the Dots” meaning that everything happens for a reason. He tells three amazing different stories. These three anecdotes lead him to become the succsesfull person he was. During his speech, he made sure to let everybody know that he didnt get his success on a silver platter. He says to get where we want to be means working hard. I believe his speech was so impacting because he doesn’t leave one detail behind. In fact, he even mentions the failures in his life. For example, when he was fired from Apple. He really makes me feel like it is okay for something to not go as planned and has taught me to persevere.
The Story
Apple was a major company in the 1950s. It was famous for producing more iPhones than any other company in the world, and it had been using that technology for as long as Apple was a dominant company with no other competition in the world. But, that changed due to the invention of the iPod.
After a few years the technology was becoming popular and Apple was having trouble attracting new customers to the small company. Apple had found so many other companies out there who were struggling with the problems of their own company that they were willing to accept their responsibility, rather than face their obligations to the people.
That changed when Apple found out about the dangers of using the iPad. Apple didn’t know enough about these issues, and had a feeling that they had done a bit of good, but it ended up destroying their business in a big way.
Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs was raised in a very different place than we were today when I believe he started his life. Steve Jobs’ mother was a physician who was very talented, and a good student. She was also very intelligent and had a big vision of the future that would give me a new appreciation for the things I was creating. That vision changed her life.
She taught him how to write and how to work because of her incredible writing abilities. She also gave him the opportunity to work. And she gave him a real passion and joy. He was so excited but he wasn´t. He hated his teacher, and for good reason.
Steve Jobs was actually so good in his early years, but in the 80s he started working in a few different jobs. He taught me how to write and had a great understanding of human nature. Then he started to develop his own ideas of writing. He spent most of his time reading to him a lot. Then he started learning about different kinds of human beings. This was after taking part in a show in 1985 when he was actually working on writing a story called “S.R.F.,” but was able to write it as well.
The Story
Steve Jobs spent four years developing ideas and writing the book. After this, he got in touch with all the other people involved in his work that were on his team. He was able to get to know some of them better. As part of this he made use of the best tools available to him. It became clear to him that other people was doing things better and that we are better now.
He didn´t want to leave anyone behind. It showed that he took the knowledge and experience which the people around him gave him well. In fact, everyone

Jobs said that the calligraphy class he took after dropping out didnt seem to be very important, Little did he know that almost 10 years later it would’ve helped to create the first computer with beautiful caligraphy. He reminds his public several times this famous saying “You cannot connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards”.
In other words, what I understood was that everything happens for a reason and you can’t choose the order in which everything occurs. You may not understand it, like it, or enjoy it at the moment but later on in life you will realise why everything happened the way it did.
Something he does tells us that we should never forget along the way is to “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish.” To be honest, at first I didn’t understand this saying. But, then I got it. It means to never give up and to work with what you love. I was inspired by his words and they made me realise that I have to apreciate every moment. Anyways, he tells us that he really works at what he loves and I hope that everyday I can look in the mirror and say the same for myself.
