Executive Summary:
This is the study and analysis of Marks and Spencer strategies of human resource management which involves the case study document with regards to the performance and team work management specifically. The case study of Marks and Spencer is based on the best use of human resource policies which shows the performance of team work during crises period of the organisation. The management has taken a wrong decision choosing the inappropriate steps in running the organisation with putting all the tasks into the hands of Chief Executive officers like Stuart Rose. Mr. Rose was appointed as Chief Executive officer for handling merchandising, retailing and buying head. The case study says throughout the period Marks and Spencer management did not perform well and the methods chosen were not justified. The managers lacked in taking appropriate measures into solving issues of employees with their appraisal, taking right steps in assigning employees properly, not allowing the employees in decision making and employee measurement system was very poor. The organisation lacked to produce what the market needs but produced what the organisation can give.

It is required that the organisation needs a to focus arrange a special team in identifying the issues, finding out which skills required and what type of changes needs to be made in the management which involves in taking new team at work and keeping the old team for training for the growth of the organisation in the market. Finally we can say that the new team needs to work hard during the hard times of the organisation and thereafter.

Introduction:
This is the case study of a cloth merchant which is globally recognised and has a good value towards its brand name Marks and Spencer (Whitehead 1994). Before ASDA taking over the market Marks and Spencer was the giant of the market in cloth industry for many years (Hansen Ibarra &Peyer, 2013). The study is focused on two subjects of the organisation which is human resource management and strategies. The case study which is depicted lacks of decision making of maintaining good management and employee involvement, no proper team management etc (Rippin, 2005). It also shows different challenges to be faced during the crises period of Marks and Spencer. The study also involves in how the performance of the management took place. This involves in employees retention polices and employee management schemes (Schermerhorn, 2009). The case study is mainly targeted on team work, performance management and leadership roles in the organisation. It is recommended that how the human resource management can be reorganised for the betterment of the organisation.
