Coming into my last semester as a St. Johns career I knew that the great education I received at St. Johns University could not be the only thing I have under my belt to succeed in life after collage. As a Finance major I have been anticipating a very competitive world that I will be interring in a post undergraduate world. After the recession in the U.S economy the job market has still not recovered to what it was before the tragedy. Only having an undergraduate degree was not going to give me the competitive edge I needed to compete in this highly rigorous Job market.
It was when I came to this realization that made me truly understand the importance and value of experience. I made it my top priority to find myself an internship that would give me the experience I needed to be better prepared in the job world. When I received the news that I was accepted into an academic internship program at UBS Financial Services I couldnt be happier. I was going into a well-established financial institution that would better amplify the power of my finance degree. In this paper I will discus my experience at UBS, what I have learned and how valuable to internship was to me.

Fist I will discuss UBS as a company. I will talk about its business and its key statistics so you have a better understanding of how the company is and can better relate to how helpful this internship was for me. UBS AG is a Swiss global financial services company headquartered in Basel and Zürich, Switzerland. It provides investment banking, asset management, and wealth management services for private, corporate, and institutional clients worldwide, as well as retail clients in Switzerland. UBS is one of the biggest financial banks in the world and is very dominant across the globe with about 37% of its 64,617 employees working in the Americas, 37% in Switzerland, 16% in the rest of Europe and 10% in Asia Pacific.[3] UBS has a major presence in the United States, with its American headquarters located in New York City (Investment banking); Weehawken, New Jersey (Private Wealth Management); and Stamford, Connecticut (Sales & Trading).
