Ive been reading a lot of shit against Muscle car enthusiasts about how we hate mustangs and imports and nothing is ever good enough for us. Let me clear this up from my perspective.
Do we hate Mustangs?
No, but there are a few that do because they have always been very-low end muscle and 99.9% of Mustang drivers have 6 cyllinder cars.
You can stereo-type us however you want, but there are 3 major reasons why we love muscle cars.
Torque, Displacement, History.
Most import drivers dont even know what it is like to sit behind a muscle car. When youre sitting behind the wheel of a stock 454 LS-6 Chevelle SS and you mash the pedal, your rear end begins to fish tail, leaving rubber and smoke everywhere. Thats a feeling you cant get from any other car.
An import dishing out 600 hp at 6,500 RPM is much different than a muscle car dishing out all 600 at 3,000 RPM. No matter how much you modify an import it will never do that because of displacement which means no low-end torque. If youve never experienced low-end torque, then you automatically have no right to talk about muscle in a negative way.
Do we hate Imports?
Some of us do and some of us dont but most of us just dont give a shit.
When it comes to power, there is nothing on the market that would impress us more than a big block.
“Well my car gets 20 miles to the gallon!” – Congradulations, but if we wanted a fuel efficient car we would have bought a hybrid. We obviously dont give a shit and its probably why 99% of us have EVERY-DAY cars.
“An import at 1000 hp
