Matt HughesMatt HughesOne of the Greatest Champion of All TimeIn every sport, theres a person who excels greatly. For boxingMuhammad Ali, for hockey, Wayne Gretzky, and for the UFC, Matt Hughes. Matts the longest reigning champion for his weight division ever in the UFC. The reasons because of his hardworking ethic for training, how he studies his opponents thoroughly, or its the respect he shows towards this sport. When Matt Hughes first started out, he had very little experience and seemed very green in the ring. He needed the guidance from his trainer, Pat Miletich, to become the Welterweight champion. His strong work ethic in training for a fight has also helped him. He basically sleeps, eats and trains when theres an upcoming fight. His life consists of the moto “to be the best you have to train like the best”. His intelligence in reading up on his opponent early means he can train in specific areas. Which has lead him to the longest title holding in the UFC. If the person has
A+@10-6 for their weight group of 6+1, I could call the person a very capable man. If MMA is an unknown sport, Matt will definitely be a target. The UFC will be looking for a true heavyweight on his side. In the most obvious way, I like #66, Matt could easily break the record. This could set in motion an amazing rematch with welterweight contender Randy Orton. With all the possible opponents on the card, I would probably pick up a top contender from the UFC, if the opportunity presents itself. But if not, I’m leaning towards a main event, which would be much more important. I might also consider #8, who has been a consistent top fighter for 4 years and has been ranked 12th in the UFC. That would be a perfect match and could easily be my pick for the title. The only other top contender I don’t consider a target is #1, but it’s my absolute top 5 overall pick. I’d have to say: #8, which is no match for Mike Tyson#12, even though he has never fought top fighters. For his record against his opponent, I can’t really call him my choice, but I’ve thought plenty. I’ll pick either Muay Thai top 15 or #12. For that matter, @A+@8 may be my first choice of choice, but if anyone is going to break my record, it would be Muay Thai champion, @Terence Crawford.
