The reasons for the proposal of a HR Department         Dynotopia is an established local five start Hotel. It has a goal to globalise, which Nankervis et all (2014, p55) emphasise the importance of globalisation and incorporating technology and make full use of the potential of their people. So to achieve this Dynotopia is in need of a Human Resource Department and a dedicated, experienced Human Resource Manager. As Nickson (2013, p6) says a HRM should know how to lead, recruit, reward, train and retain people. According to the VRIO framework, Dynotopia has not met the competitive advantage (www.strategicmanagementinsight.com/tools/vrio.html). So thus when HR department is set up and running the HRM will make sure he leads the organisation towards advantage. The VRIO framework is explained in detail for Dynotopia below.         Valuable: is Dynotopia valuable: YES (because of the profit and its worth)        Rare: is it a rare organization to see: NO (there is no unique feature to compare)         Costly to imitate: is it costly to imitate or copy: YES: the features and interiors are costly to copy        Organized: it the organisation very organised and well-structured at the organisational level: NO, so the overall competitor advantage is a no. we need a proper human resource manager to put everything in place.2. The strategic role of the HR Manager         In simple words, the role of a HRM in the 21st century is very demanding, complex, has to maintain people, culture, all stake holders must be considered, the unions and law has to be adhered. The HRM who Dynotopia is going to recruit, this is an important role to play, very challenging. According to Nankervis et all (2014) the role of HRM is not only limited to working closely with all line leaders and managers to make sure the people work at the right time at the right spot and budget met. This is at the functional levels who physically do the job. At the operational level HRM will make plans and discuss how factors of the operations of Dynotopia. And at strategic level planning incorporate people, culture, well-being and law. The HRM is responsible for overall strategic planning and maintaining, development plans which will lead D|ynotopia towards competitive advantage. The HRM should make sure the organisational and employee goals are met in a balanced manner with the required flexibility given inline to policies and structure.

3. An organization chart that reflects the relationships between the newly developed Human Resources (HR) Department and the other existing Departments in the hotel. Justify the organisation chart that you have drawn.[pic 1]All the departments come under direct control of the General Manger. All the functional departments have separate managers to report to and the managers’ report to the Executive Manager. The IT, FRONT OFFICE, Reservations, House Keeping, Food and Beverage and Human Resource Departments are the main classifications in the Dynotopia Hotel. The Human Resource Department takes care of the recruitment, training, development and retaining of the staff of Dynotopia. The Human Resource Manager should be having immense knowledge of running of a 5 star hotel in order to achieve the goals of the job demands. As Nankervis et. all (2014) define Human resource management as the convergent of the three main factors in Dynotopia. The new HRM should be able to harness the people of Dynotopia with his skills. HRM should be able to achieve the short and long term goals of Dynotopia. The department managers do not work or report to the HRM but HRM works closely with all department leaders to maximise the people utilisation.  4. The importance of an accurate position description of the Human Resource Manager in relations to the recruitment and selection process         The position description is the first impression of Dynotopia for a potential Human Resource Manager. As Nankervis et all (2014, ch 5) explain, it is important for the company to set a point system to weigh all the applicants. In order to attract the right bunch of potential HRM, we need to set a certain job description and essential criteria. So that we can save time in getting more unwanted resumes and applications. Rather spend some time in creating a proper job description and this helps eliminating the applicants and finding the right person for Dynotopia.
