Conducting successful internet and online library searches
There are many papers that a student will write and that means that he or she will be doing quite a bit of research. The student may choose to go to a conventional library or the student may decide that he or she prefers the online resources. A traditional library has information on almost every topic that he or she may be researching. If he or she finds that the library does not have the information needed one can request that the library borrows information from another library. This type of lending is not unusual among these facilities. The advantage to using this type of source to acquire information is that the student has the information right in front of them and the student does not have to be bothered with a computer. Advantages to using an online library or other search engines, such as, Yahoo.com, Google.com, or Ask.com, is that they provide an abundance of information in a short amount of time.

information and he or she does not get the results that the student wanted, he or she might want to narrow the phrase down or choose a different word to describe his or her topic. There are different areas for articles, journals, documents, and periodicals. When a student needs help finding an article or text, he or she can go to the “Ask the Librarian” area to get the assistance that they are looking for. One thing that must be kept in mind is to make sure that the information that the student is going to use should reliable.
Upholding academic honesty
When a student finds the sources that he or she is going to use for his or her paper(s) keep in mind that this information is merely borrowed from the original author, so students want to be sure to give credit to those who deserve the credit. Using the information that students gather when researching is not wrong to do but when someone uses that information without proper given credit, is considered plagiarism. The source of the information will determine how the information needs to be cited. Students should always keep the Writing Style Handbook handy so they can refer to it to see the proper way to cite their sources. Upholding academic honesty is very important because it shows not only that a student is honest but it also shows that the student is respectful to others by giving them the credit for his or her works
