Why cannot students bring cell phones to school? This is a question that is among many students in todays society. Everyday, I see teachers and other staff in the school using cell phones. The teachers and principals say it distracts us students even if the phones are on vibrating. What schools do not know is that when they have their cell phone in there pocket and it starts ringing or vibrating, that distracts teachers from teaching and gets us students unfocused. Teachers get to use their phones in the building. Some teachers are respectful enough and turn off their phones while others leave their cell phones in a bag in a class room and it starts ringing extremely loud and gets the students in the class room distracted. To tell you the truth, I feel that is very wrong. A teacher is supposed to be a role model to the students.
People say that they banned cell phones for many reasons. One being that studentsuses cell phones to transport drugs in school according to NSBA. According to www.educationworld.com, parents want their child to be able to bring cell phones to school. They argued and argued with their school district saying that cell phones are necessary. I know some people and schools would not agree because they think if students were to be able to bring cell phones to school they would distract the whole class because they will be making phone calls out, their cell phones will ring, and text messaging would be going on. There are some solutions to the problem if the school would think.
One reason cell phones should be allowed in school is because many students have to stay for after school programs and when they come out they need a cell phone to call a guardian to let them know where they at, what time they should be coming home, and other details for parents or guardian would not be worried if not home.
