Helping students to develop a deep love and respect for themselves and others occurs through openly sharing ideas. Developing a curriculum around students interest fosters motivation and the passion to learn. If students are given the opportunity for their input they will generate ideas and set goals for themselves. In return if students are given the ownership in the curriculum they will be motivated to work harder and learn hard and master the skill that are need in todays world.
I believe that all children have the ability to learn and have the rights to a quality education. I also believe that each child has a different learning style and that having a student/teacher relationship with each student I will be able to learn how each student processes information. As a teacher I would have conversations with my students about their goals, their dreams, their ideas, and experience and with both of us giving a 100% everyday there is no limit on what they can accomplish. For me, teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth. My hopes as a teacher are to install the love for learning into every one of my students. I feel that there is a need for compassion, strong, and dedicated individuals who are excited about teaching. In our society it is important for students to receive a sold education and to have someone who is aware of their individual needs. I am that type of person who will strive everyday to accomplish this.
