Childern in Divorces
The article, “American Voiceless:” The Children of Divorce, written by Susan Milano; is an article that surrounds itself around the outcomes of divorce and also how those outcomes affect the children of the divorce.

Ms. Milano wants you to believe that divorce is almost a given in most relationships because we spend too much time trying to get the other person to “choose us,” other than being our true selves. She believes that these misconceptions later lead to feelings of betrayl and mistrust, inevitably breaking up the marriage, as Milano says;

“When the marriage ends it is like a house set on fire. All desired hopes,
dreams and commitment cherished by both sides, goes up in smoke.”
These are strong words coming from Milano, she wants you to think that there is nothing left; but what about the children? She claims to focus on the them and how they feel, but to deny them the respect of being a parent’s “hopes and dreams” is almost taking

away their voices herself. I do agree that sometimes the children’s voices aren’t heard, but the reasoning behind this is that children are not able to make informed decisions; they do not have the experience or the education.
